CES2011 Preview #1

As you know, Technology Today is covering the Consumer Electronics Show 2011, CES2011, which takes place early next year in Las Vegas. Since the conference is fast approaching, we are going to start previewing firms and technologies that will be on display at CES next year.

This week, Steve Samolinski, Director of Solution Management for Schlage and Mary Miller from the Z-Wave Alliance will join the show to talk about Home Automation technology and to give us a sneak peak at the new technologies they will unveil.

Listeners will recognize Z-Wave as the technology mentioned by past guest and friend of the show, Larry Letow who is a self-proclaimed fan of home automation.

    Steve Samolinski is Director of Solution Management for Connected Home Solutions at Ingersoll Rand. He leads product planning, development and execution for the Schlage LiNK product line and oversees subscriber marketing and pricing activities.

    Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Steve was the Service Line Manager for Vehicle Diagnostics at OnStar where he played a key role in launching the first vehicle health and maintenance service, the OnStar Vehicle Diagnostic system. Steve received GM’s “Boss” Kettering Technical Innovation Award for his contribution to the system.

    Industry Experience
    Steve has 10 years of experience in customer services that provide remote access and information. He is currently responsible for the Schlage LiNK remote home-management system, which enables homeowners to control and monitor door locks, cameras, lighting, thermostats and more from their cell phones or a computer.
