Technology Today…

The power in your hands

Holidays are for the Children

Our children take center stage during the holidays. Parents spend sleepless nights thinking of what toys and gifts we can put under the tree to surprise them. We watch as they rip open carefully wrapped presents with great joy and jump and scream out when they get the new gadget (or pillow pet) they always wanted!

Well, those who prey on children look forward to this time of year also. Its important to take a moment to consider that the dark and scary side of the Internet and modern communications technology is that it can, sadly, facilitate the activities of a pedophile. As more and more of our kids get iPods, smart phones, play multi-player online games, we need to understand online threats and how to stop them.

This is a sensitive topic, but one we have to talk about and we’ll be joined by Mr. Richard LaMagna who has long worked on online child safety endeavors including leading the development of Microsoft’s Online Child Safety Strategy, as well as supporting the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s technology infrastructure.

This is a crucial show that you will not want to miss. Join us & send us your questions & we’ll answer them live on air.
