Technology Today…

The power in your hands

Control your Laptop with your Eyes?

Ever get tired of looking for where the mouse is on screen, or of multi-finger keyboard shortcuts. Well this week we talk with Barbara Barclay, General Manager of Tobii North America who is developing a technology that may make the keyboard and the mouse obsolete. Tobii Technologies, along with Lenova, has developed a prototype of an eye controlled laptop and Barbara will tell us how it works and when we can expect this technology in our homes and offices.

Check out this video of Barbara giving a demo of the eye-controlled Laptop.

We’ll ask Barbara if the eye-controlled computer will achieve greater market penetration than voice-control technology.

We also talk with Julio Ojeda-Zapata, author of iPad Means Business and ask him his secrets for using the iPad to actually make money – as long as we can tear ourselves away from Angry Birds. We’ll also ask him when he thinks a iPod might be eye-controlled.
