Technology Today…

The power in your hands

A Look into ERP Systems

ERP systems are large scale, enterprise wide software that run the business operations for Fortune 500 companies, mid-size businesses, higher educational institutions, government agencies, libraries, and most any type of organization that you can think of.

Anyone whose implemented ERP systems, or any enterprise wide business software, knows the complications that arise and challenges involved with such efforts are real and that these projects are often delivered late and over budget.

We’ll talk about ERP implementations and their challenges this week and how to resolve them. One issue I’ve seen is the mad rush to customize these highly complicated and integrated systems – it can often cause more problems then the customization solves. I discourage most any modification of the workings on an ERP system, especially during the early stages of the implementation & adoption, and present a rational against such in a recent article published on InformIT.Com.

Join Us for this discussion on ERP systems and call-in this Thursday from 4-5pm Eastern at 866-472-5790 with your own questions and experiences (horror stories) about ERP implementations.

Stephan diFilipo
